I’m Jo Bossart, founder and managing director of The Pharmanumbers Group. We provide product and pipeline strategy guidance and forecasting support to emerging and established Drug Delivery and Specialty Pharma companies.
After more than 30 years in the pharmaceutical business, and seeing my share of success and failures, I believe there is much to be learned from the experience of others. This blog looks at real world situations in the area of drug delivery strategy and pipeline development with the intent of teasing out the elements that contribute to success; and pointing out the potholes.
Posts will range from quick and dirty looks at topical issues, to a detailed analysis of a company or product. The focus is Drug Delivery but from time-to-time I’ll look at the broader pharmaceutical market for ideas and issues. I define Drug Delivery as the business and art of enabling, enhancing, expanding and/or transforming the use of a pharmaceutical active by altering its absorption, distribution, metabolism or excretion through molecular manipulation or formulation. It’s a mouthful, but it’s pretty obvious when you see it.
You can find out more about me on LinkedIn – Josef Bossart. After an education in the chemical and pharmaceutical sciences my early career was devoted to sales and marketing. For the past 25 years my focus has been on business and corporate development, working with and for a variety of pharmaceutical companies. My articles can be found at www.pharmanumbers.com.
After decades of moving for business my wife and I have decided to plunk our asses in lovely Parry Sound, Ontario Canada, a small town on the Canadian Shield at the edge of Georgian Bay. With excellent internet access, a great group of collaborators, and easy access to the world through Toronto Pearson International airport, I’m doing my bit to make Drug Delivery all it can be.
